Renowned actor Dwayne Johnson is accused of being impolitely while he was filming Red One, an action movie about Santa.
Behind the sets of Dwayne Johnson’s next Santa action movie, Red One, it seems like things haven’t been so festive. According to a recent in-depth article, the wrestler-turned-actor acted impolitely when the holiday-themed film was being made.
The Wrap reports that Johnson frequently arrived late to the Amazon MGM Studios movie set for Red One, sometimes arriving as much as eight hours late. According to an informant, Dwayne’s constant behavior was his chronic tardiness. It was an absolute disaster, and Dwayne really doesn’t give a damn.” Additionally, insiders assert that Johnson declined to work full days throughout main photography, which ran from February of last year to October of 2022. One source claimed, “It’s his complete refusal to work more than a four or five-hour day,” while another claimed, “It’s a control thing.”
Red One’s budget also shot through the roof due to Johnson’s supposed tardiness. Johnson’s tardiness contributed to the staggering $250 million cost of Red One. Johnson’s tardiness is nothing new, according to many insiders. He has a reputation for being late to a lot of his filmings, especially the Fast & Furious series, which has resulted in higher expenses and managerial problems. Red One ran over budget, although Amazon and MGM have since refuted this, and sources close to Johnson’s defense claim he was occasionally, at most, an hour late to the shoot.
Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Red One’s original holiday release date was rescheduled for this November. Johnson co-stars in the movie with J.K. Simmons, Lucy Liu, and Chris Evans, who was previously an actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Simmons also appears in the Spider-Man franchise. Johnson uses his Seven Bucks Productions label to produce the action movie as well. Johnson reportedly made $50 million for his efforts on Red One, a hefty reward considering the enormous budget and the set conduct charges.
In the story Red One, a criminal kidnaps Santa Claus from the North Pole, forcing an E.L.F. (Extremely Large and Formidable) agent to team up with a bounty hunter in an attempt to rescue the holiday. Reimagining holiday mythology, Johnson, Amazon, and MGM see this movie as the start of a possible franchise. At CinemaCon earlier this month, a restricted group of journalists viewed video from Red One, but they were not permitted to report on what they saw.
