On July 23, Bad Boys: Ride or Die will be accessible via digital and video on demand.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film gets a 97% approval rating from viewers.
Will Smith says he only wants to develop sequels with a purpose, which seems to be a hint to a possible fifth Bad Boys film.
Will Smith has returned to acting with the recent release of Sony’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die, despite the fact that he may have faced his fair share of difficulties recently. The fourth entry in the popular action-comedy series, which co-stars Martin Lawrence, has been in theaters for more than fifteen days and has generated remarkable box office receipts. Its performance has been one of the more remarkable tales of a quiet summer, but now that a digital release date has been determined, its run is almost over.
When to Stream reports that on July 23, Smith and Lawrence’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die will be accessible on Digital through premium video on demand. In its announcement, the streaming tracker also mentioned that the release date has not yet been confirmed by distributor Sony Pictures. You can buy or rent Bad Boys: Ride or Die on streaming services including VUDU, AppleTV+, and Prime Video. The action-comedy sequel is part of a franchise that has a reputation for pleasing both viewers and critics. On the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, Bad Boys: Ride or Die receives a score of 65%, which is lower than that of its predecessor, which had a 75% approval rating. But the most recent sequel validates its value by stunning viewers, receiving an almost flawless 97% audience rating as opposed to Bad Boys for Life’s 96% audience rating.
After a difficult few years, Smith has returned to the spotlight with Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which is directed by the creative team of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Smith and comedian Chris Rock got into a fight at the Oscars before Smith won his Best Actor Academy Award for King Richard. Following that, Hollywood rejected the actor and the Academy banned him. The current season of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, however, indicates that audiences appear to have gotten over the incident, even though some may not have.
Will ‘Bad Boys’ Films Continue to Be Made?
The Michael Bay blockbuster success that launched the Bad Boys franchise in 1995 brought in $141 million in worldwide revenue. The second movie, which was also directed by Bay, came out in 2003, over ten years later. Globally, Bad Boys II brought in more than $270 million. The franchise has made over $1.2 billion in total thanks to the success of Bad Boys for Life in 2020 and the phenomenal summer box office performance of its sequel. Thus, it raises an inquiry. Will the crime-fighting team appear in a fifth movie? Smith has responded to this by saying:
“I never wanted to be one of those guys who makes sequels just so people will go, as long as there’s a reason.” I want to produce them because they have a point to convey and the characters are coming to an engaging, entertaining, and perhaps even somewhat useful place.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die is already available for viewing in cinemas, and on July 23 it will likely make its digital debut. Check back with Collider for further updates.
