A video of the Straw Hats getting back together in South Africa marks the start of filming on Netflix’s One Piece Season 2.
Season 2 builds on the popularity of Season 1, which peaked at number one on the Netflix charts.
The Straw Hats face new obstacles in One Piece Season 2, including as competing against Baroque Works and welcoming significant cast members.
It’s finally here, friends of Straw Hat Pirates. The second season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece series has officially started production, following its incredible first season that took the streaming world by storm last summer! The streamer celebrated the beginning of production by sharing a cute video of the Straw Hats (Iűaki Godoy as Luffy), Taz Skylar as Sanji, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Mackenyu as Zoro) getting back together on the Going Merry deck during filming in South Africa.
It should come as no surprise that the show was ordered for a second season less than a month after its debut. Following its August premiere, the series shot to the top of the Netflix ratings, where it remained for weeks. It also set an amazing record for early viewing until this past spring, when it was overtaken by another live-action adaption, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Because of how successful the franchise has been for Netflix, the streaming service recently revealed that a brand-new anime series will be arriving on the platform. This new series is not to be confused with the current anime series, which has been airing on the platform since 1999.
‘One Piece’ Season 2 Cast List
One Piece Season 2 will also see the return of Illia Isorelys Paulino, Jeff Ward, and Michael Dorman as Alvida, Buggy the Clown, and Gold Roger, respectively, in addition to the five Straw Hats. Although it’s unknown at this time whether more well-known characters from Season 1 will make a comeback, anything can happen on the Grand Line!
The Straw Hats will face additional obstacles in Season 2 as they get ready to take on Baroque Works, an organization that was hinted at in Season 1 and will become more prominent when the show returns. Casting for the upcoming season has already begun and includes both agents of Baroque Works and others. Famous actors David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Clive Russell as Crocus, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, and Werner Coetser as Dorry are among those who will be appearing.
Season 2 of One Piece is currently under production. Netflix is presently offering Season 1.
