The director of MCU, Jon Watts, cautions against the director of Spider-Man 4 employing realistic effects, such as having Spider-Man swing on a rope.
For Spider-Man swinging moments, Watts advises against wasting time by just utilising a rope because this can make the motion appear monotonous.
Watts’ key piece of advise to a potential future Spider-Man filmmaker is this useful information.
Director of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Jon Watts, who oversaw the Spider-Man trilogy for Marvel Studios, offers suggestions for the person directing Spider-Man 4.
At this year’s CCXP in Mexico City, Watts was recently interviewed by Collider. When asked what guidance he would provide to the person who ends up directing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, Watts shared the following:
I believe every Spider-Man director goes through this really useful piece of instruction. When someone is only swinging on a rope, it doesn’t seem nice. You go into it with the idea that everything will be done practically. We’re going to hire a performer. We will be frolicking about. It is monotonous. It appears foolish. When someone is only attached to a rope, it resembles a monkey swinging on a vine. Save yourself the time. I would advise the upcoming Spider-Man director to do that.
