A new teaser for the animated Despicable Me 4 sequel unleashes the Mega Minions.
Despicable Me 4, the impending sequel, has a new trailer out. A brand-new poster that further hint at the appearance of the Mega Minions—superpowered creatures—has also been unveiled.
This is the first Despicable Me film to be released in seven years, despite it comes out after Minions: The Rise of Gru, the 2022 prequel. The movie series became the most successful global animation franchise in history with the earnings of that movie, which brought in around $1 billion globally. The appearance of the Mega Minions in Despicable Me 4 ushers in a new era. You can see the updated poster and trailer below.
“Gru (Oscar nominee Steve Carrell) and Lucy (Oscar nominee Kristen Wiig) and their girls — Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Madison Polan) — welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad,” according to the plot summary for Despicable Me 4. With Oscar winner Will Ferrell portraying Maxime Le Mal and Sofia Vergara portraying his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina, Gru has a new adversary, and the family is forced to flee.”
New voices in the sequel include those of Chloe Fineman from Saturday Night Live, Joey King from Bullet Train, and Stephen Colbert from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Steve Coogan, who plays Silas Ramsbottom, and Pierre Coffin, who voices the Minions, come back from the previous installments.
Chris Renaud (The Secret Life of Pets), who co-created the Minions, directed Despicable Me 4. The seasoned screenwriter of each Despicable Me movie, Ken Daurio, collaborates with Mike White, the Emmy-winning creator of The White Lotus, on this one. Chris Meledandri, the CEO of Illumination, and Brett Hoffman, the producer of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Minions: The Rise of Gru, are producing the movie together. The Secret Life of Pets 2’s Patrick Delage co-directed.
Despicable Me 4 Continues Where Part 3 Ended
The next chapter of Despicable Me 4’s narrative is “a continuation of the story,” voice actor Steve Carell previously revealed to Digital Spy. Now that they’re married, Gru and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) are a family. This is a significant advancement for their society, as their children are now fully involved in the Anti-Villain League. This is the most sensible progression in their family’s ongoing journey.”
In cinemas July 3, 2024, Despicable Me 4 opens.
