Season 2 of Netflix has been announced to begin production on Wednesday. The whole cast of the new season, which features Jenna Ortega reprising her role as Wednesday Addams, has also been revealed by the streamer.
Wednesday Season 2 is now filming in Ireland, according to Variety. “Chapter One: Here We Woe Again,” the Season 2 premiere, will be helmed by Tim Burton, the director of several Season 1 episodes. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the series creators and showrunners, wrote the script for the episode. For Season 2, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer are among the returning cast members, along with Ortega.

For Season 2, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez—who appeared as Wednesday’s father Gomez, brother Pugsley, and mother Morticia, respectively—have been promoted to series regulars.And Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen, will return.
Deputy Ritchie Santiago Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, who made a recurrence appearance in Season 1, has also been promoted to a series regular. She now appears alongside Billie Piper (Scoop), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill), Owen Painter (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Noah Taylor (Law & Order: Organised Crime) as the new major cast members. Deadline reports that Jamie McShane will reprise his role as Sheriff Donovan Galpin, although in a cameo capacity.
Additionally, Thandiwe Newton has been cast as a guest star, and Steve Buscemi has been added as a new series regular. Although Variety previously revealed that Buscemi would be playing the new principal of Nevermore Academy, neither of their roles have been revealed. Gough and Millar released a statement saying, “We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.”
Wednesday Season 2 Drops Percy Hynes White and Adds Another Addams Family Alum
Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous), Frances O’Connor (The Missing), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method), Heather Matarazzo (Scream), Joonas Suotamo (The Acolyte), and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) are among the other guest stars for Wednesday Season 2. Lloyd had portrayed Uncle Fester in the two 1990s live-action Addams Family films.
Percy Hynes White, who portrayed Xavier Thorpe, a student at Nevermore Academy, is one actor who will not return for Season 2. Netflix reportedly fired him from the series after the actor was accused of sexual assault on social media. It won’t be recast for the part.
The first season of Wednesday, which followed Wednesday Addams as she attended Nevermore Academy and tried to control her developing psychic powers, put an end to a horrific killing spree that was terrorizing the nearby town of Jericho, and unravel a 25-year-old mystery, launched on Netflix in November 2022.
